A few weeks ago we had the biggest snow/ice storm that we have seen in North Carolina for many years. We were given plenty of heads up that the storm was coming. On January 23rd, the Friday before it was to start, we headed to Lowes. I passed people coming out the door pushing carts with huge generators balanced in them. The Lowe’s greeter said, “Welcome to the mad house.” I laughed.

I skipped the generators and headed to the paint department. It was nice and quiet there. I searched the Sherwin William samples and came up with a nice green color called, “Honeydew”.

I was all set to finish a snow project.

The room that used to be my office has been turned back into a bedroom, and my office has been moved to the den.

As the winds blew snow outside, changes were happening inside.

The room was going from a light blue color to a green with more wood and woodsy decor. I had in mind a woodland scene as I painted and decorated.

The snow began to pile up. I thought the red birds looked like Christmas ornaments on the tree with the bird feeder.

The room was quite a mess as the painting was finished.

Now for the decorating.

In my decorating, I’m trying to go with more colors like God has produced in nature. It’s interesting how well, greens, blues, browns, and yellows go so well together. Just like God put them together in nature. Blue skies. Yellow sun. Green grass and tree leaves with brown trunks. Very soothing.

So here are the final pictures of the completed room.

The quilts are 100% cotton from Amazon. I’m trying to go with more cotton and linen and natural fibers found in nature to keep chemicals out of the house.

Were you able to complete any projects while you were snowed in? If so, comment below.

And have a great week!
