Conservative political activist and YouTuber, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, speaks at University of Nevada in Reno during his "You're...

We have lost a true warrior for the faith. Charlie Kirk accomplished more in his 31 years than I have accomplished in almost 68 years. I have wanted my whole life to be used by God in an incredible way, as most believers in Christ want. Charlie provides an example for all of us to do that.

Charlie’s Example:

  1. He put the Bible at the top of his reading list and followed it with all diligence. (“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)
  2. He read 100 books every year to educate himself so he could debate with wisdom and knowledge. (“The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.” Proverbs 18:15 NIV)
  3. Charlie set the example for what Christian husbands should work toward. Charlie’s wife, Erika, spoke about Charlie and said his favorite Bible verse was… “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her…” Ephesians 5:25 Click here to watch the video of Erika, as she first speaks about Charlie after his murder. She says he asked her each day how he could better serve her and their children.
  4. Charlie set the example for what Christian fathers should work toward in loving their children and raising them to be ambassadors for Christ. He supported his wife in her firm discipline of them at the dinner table.
  5. Charlie showed us what an ambassador for Christ should look like and how to love those that are different from us. All of his debates pointed everyone back to Christ and the need for a relationship with him. He exposed sin and brought the light of God’s truth to everyone in the hopes of leading others to repentance and a relationship with Jesus. Charlie was hated for exposing sin, just as God is hated for exposing sin by His Word. Charlie lost his life for being outspoken against sin — a true martyr for his faith. (“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” Romans 1:18-20 NIV) (“Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:32 NIV) We are not to approve (accept) those who practice these evil things. It is LOVE — to point them to Christ for forgiveness of sins, so they can turn to a better way of life — instead of accepting their depravity that is only leading them to hell.
  6. Charlie showed us how to speak the truth in love in hopes of leading others to a relationship with Christ. (“…speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians 4:15 NIV)
  7. He loved and enjoyed nature… God’s creation. (For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 NIV)
  8. His motto was, “Never Surrender.”
  9. His favorite word was “earn” as in work hard to earn…
  10. He knew the battle was spiritual, and we should fight it as such. (“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 NIV)

Evil did not prevail the day that Charlie was killed. His story and example will cause other great warriors of the faith to rise up to his example. And one day, he will be vindicated…

“When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony. They shouted to the Lord and said, ‘O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?’ Then a white robe was given to each of them. And they were told to rest a little longer until the full number of their brothers and sisters— their fellow servants of Jesus who were to be martyred—had joined them.” Revelation 6:9-11 NLT
