In my life I’ve found that at various times I’ve needed a:
- Health Coach
- Counselor
- Financial planner
- Comforter
- Physician
- Friend
- Leader
- Husband
- Life Coach
- Father
And this is what I’ve found:
- Health Coach – “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink… Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: ‘Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not tough!’? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.” Colossians 2:16a and 2:20-23 (NIV) “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.” 1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NIV) “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8 “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-9 (NIV)
- Counselor – “Hear counsel, and receive instruction that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” Proverbs 19:20 (KJV) “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.” Proverbs 2:6-7 (KJV) “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5 (KJV)
- Financial planner – “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” Luke 14:28 (KJV) “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7 (KJV) “My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you have been trapped….free yourself….” Proverbs 6:1-3a (NIV) “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing….” Proverbs 28:27a (NIV)
- Comforter – “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (ESV) “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
- Physician – “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” Psalm 103:2-3 (NIV) “by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53: 5b (NIV) “The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.” Psalm 41:3 (NIV)
- Friend – “You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know His master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:14-15 (NIV)
- Leader – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (ESV) “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 ((ESV) “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 (ESV)
- Husband – “For your Maker is your husband — the LORD Almighty is His name — the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5 (NIV)
- Life Coach – “…no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.” Ephesians 4:17b-18 (NIV) “In your anger do not sin” Ephesians 4:26a (NIV) ” “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths” Ephesians 4:29a (NIV) “make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (NIV)
- Father – “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8 (KJV) “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32 (KJV). “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (KJV)

Can you find a Bible verse to fulfill that need by God’s helping hand?
