The world seems to be falling apart, and then the wonderful interrupters come. Babies are born, life goes on in amazing ways. Family becomes front and center and the most important thing in the world for us. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Family.

Isn’t that how it all started?

Family?

In a garden?

With God at the center of it all?

Our fifth grandbaby was born on Friday, March 12th. A beautiful spring day. We have been privileged to keep the older two brothers while Mom and Dad adapt to life with a newborn and help from Gigi.

The boys have been fun and excited to stay with us, and they are looking forward to cousins coming to visit them tomorrow. I am excited to have them all here together. Family.

With warm days and flowers blooming it reminds me of how perfect the original garden was intended to be. Family. Together. Tilling the land, picking flowers, eating wonderful vegetables and fruits. Enjoying God and each other.

A new baby is a reminder of what it was all meant to be. I hope, today, instead of looking at the chaos in the world, you will look at your family, and find ways to enjoy and love on them.

I’ll close with one of my favorite verses that resonates with me more and more during this time.

“Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (NLT)

…A quiet life, with God and family.
