If you read my blog last week you were given the link to a free ebook by Annette Reeder. In her ebook, 7 Steps To Amazing Biblical Health & 3 Lies that Prevent It, you are given information and videos that teach Biblical Health. Once you download the ebook to your computer, you can take your time going through the information and the videos.

On one of the pages in the ebook I found some interesting information that I am still processing.

It starts out with this verse: “Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God?” (Romans 10:17)

Then… below that verse Annette lists the following cell responses…

  • Your cells respond to the Maker’s name. God loves me!
  • Your cells respond and are open to nutrition when they hear God’s name and praises from your mouth!
  • Your cells close and restrict when you are dealing with anger, unforgiveness, stress, etc. To unlock that cell membrane to health and healing, you must forgive and let God.
  • Your cells – live and feed in a more vigorous way when you are open and believing in God’s love! (see the page titled KNOW AND SPEAK WHAT YOU BELIEVE, in the ebook.)

On the first page after the title page you can download a Health Score Card as I mentioned last week.

The score card is… “A TEST OF 15 IMPORTANT NUTRIENTS NECESSARY FOR HEALTHY LIVING!”

Low scores equal wellness except on the Mental Wellness page. High scores on the “Important Nutrients” pages shows there is work to be done.

For the best health possible:

  • Don’t think calories or macros.
  • Think hunger and fullness.
  • Think nutrients.

It is okay if you give yourself a treat now and again, but to always think about the taste, smell, and comfort of food, rather than nutrients, will get you in trouble with your health. God provided such great foods for us, packaged in ready to eat packaging and yet we are always trying to change what God has given us to IMPROVE on His design.

Most of the nutrient dense foods need little preparation.

If you took the test, each page gives you a list of foods to eat with the nutrients you need to improve your gut and health. Here are a list of some of the ones I should be eating more of:

  • oranges
  • mangoes
  • cantaloupes
  • lemons
  • radishes
  • peas
  • collards
  • green leafy veggies
  • wheat germ
  • brocolli
  • apples
  • cherries
  • carrots
  • red cabbage
  • sauerkraut
  • fermented foods
  • kumbucha

I actually love most of these foods, but many times I’m cooking for others who don’t. That’s when you have to make an intentional choice to serve yourself foods others may not want. If you want to have energy, be sick less often, fight against cancer cells before they get started, it is important to make sure you are taking care of yourself along with everyone else.

Thinking nutrients helps you focus less on junk and processed foods. Can you name a nutrient that is still active in a potato chip? Hint: They do have minor amount of potassium, but that’s it. Can you name a nutrient present in a soda? Can you name a nutrient present in cake?

Full discloser — I made a vegan chocolate cake for a birthday get together this weekend. It was rich, high fat, and very delicious. There were only three possible nutrients in the cake and icing which came in the form of oat milk, cocoa, and unsweetened applesauce. Everyone had one piece at the party. My husband and I had a small piece the next day and then I froze the rest for later when we are craving chocolate.

Stress on the adrenal glands makes you crave salt. That is when I go for salty chips or popcorn. Stress in general makes me crave chocolate. The Mental Wellness page will help you assess things that need to be worked on such as dealing with stress, getting rest, digestive health, and cravings. The nutrient pages help you determine what foods to eat to help with a very wide variety of health issues.

Annette shares Dr. Rex Russell’s testimony. He was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when he was thirteen and only given twenty more years to live due to complications from that diagnosis. He wrote the book, What The Bible Says About Healthy Living. He lived to the age of sixty-eight.

Annette has included principles from the Bible on how to eat in the ebook. Here are two important thoughts that she shares:

  • Eating beyond satisfied is a sin.
  • “What we hunger for we worship.” – John Piper

It is recommended that we eat foods as close to the way God made them as possible— raw, steamed, or lightly cooked.

Once more, I highly recommend you get this free resource. Here is the link: https://thebiblicalnutritionist.com/free-7-steps-to-amazing-biblical-health/

It is very much worth your time to go through the information provided in the ebook. You may not agree with all of it, but I think you will find some very practical help for many health issues you may be living with right now.

And,

I hope you have a great week!
