This is my first attempt at a vision board. I’m following Terri Savelle Foy’s plan for how to do a vision board. She recommends no more than seven goals for your board at a time so you are not overwhelmed and unable to complete them. At the end of this post I will link a very important short video from her, in which she has a link to get her resources for planning your vision board for 2025, for $8.00. I recently bought one of her books, used, for $12.00, that she supplies in this offer. So you will be getting a bargain if you choose her offer.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18
In recent days, I’ve been studying the details of the concept of a Vision Board and how to use them. The rest of that verse says, “but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (KJV)
The law is just Biblical rules to live by that make your life better. And the Bible is full of rules on how to reach your goals and dreams, but we often miss them.
I was listening to Terri Savelle Foy, who is a motivational speaker. She was explaining something in the story of the Tower of Babel, found in Genesis 11:1-9, that I’ve missed in the past. She specifically pointed out verse 6 which says, “And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do (build the tower): and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” (KJV)
As bad as this story is to read about, here is one positive take away that we usually don’t see. We are able to do what we imagine to do.
And in that comes the idea of a Vision Board. Place on your board what God has called you to do. Set goals. Imagine them already fulfilled as you work toward them. Put pictures of weight loss, good health, good finances, pictures of writers, business people, athletes, speakers at conferences, related scriptures—whatever God has laid on your heart to do— put it on the board. Add Bible verses that relate to your goals. Terri said in one of her YouTube videos that we should then say two Words to God to bring our goals to life.
THANK YOU!
Those two words show your strong belief that God will make it happen as you thank Him for it. God loves people who stand firm in their belief in Him, Who He is, and what He can do.
For more thoughts on achieving your dreams, I am attaching the motivational message from Terri Savelle Foy that I’ve been listening to, if you will click on this link. In this message she tells of all the specific Bible passages that when followed help you achieve your dreams. She points out examples of even the non-Christians achieving great successes when unknowingly putting the Biblical principles (Laws) into practice in their lives.
Do you have a vision board? Here is a great YouTube link to get started and Terri has the $8.00 offer included in this short video. It is well worth your time to watch and well worth the $8.00 for the offer. Click here for access.
Have a great week!
Great idea, Jane. Yvonne Lehman taught a class on vision boards at BRMCWC for Andrew years. And this talk sounds very much like a keynote by Michelle Medlock Adams. Obviously, God is using His people and His Word to speak to us. One thought about making a board but it only exists in my Pinterest site. I think I need to expand on it and hang it in my office. Thank you, Jane for the prod I needed!
Deb
Yes, Debbie. The ones that speak about vision boards say you need to keep them where you see them almost constantly. Your office will be a great space for one. This was my first time of hearing about Vision Boards. I am excited to see what happens.
Great post. Thank you, Jane.
Thanks for reading and commenting, Tim:)
Thank you for the information, Jane. I’m so glad the vision board and Foy’s information are helpful to you. Praying for you as you continue to pursue your dreams.
Thanks for prayers, Joni!
